A bit 'o March and some of April

Let's start with April - since we are very much looking forward to all things spring - whenever they decide to show! (As I type this, it is snowing big juicy flakes....)
*sigh*

The kids wanted to paint Easter eggs, here they are hard at work!

April is an exciting month at our house for the particular reason that it is Dylan's birthday month! He turned 8 this time! We had the usual celebration which included the family within close proximity to our house!
Dylan was horribly spoiled - he now has lego coming out of his ears! :)
The food request for his party, was hamburgers and ice cream cake - a little summery, but we can't wait that long in this country! ;)

I found a new recipe for the cake! Definitely worthy of a repeat - Toblerone and Toasted Almond&Chocolate were the two flavours attempted this time!

This was the last of March!
We had heaps of fun with Uncle Aaron, who came to stay for his 'midterm break'! We celebrated his birthday and enjoyed the first wiener roast at our new place!
We went up to visit Shaun & Bonnie for a little bit of our spring break! (Tried Bikram hot yoga for the first time!)
And just a couple of photos of Dylan and Emarie's award assembly - they were awarded for being good listeners! (I wish they'd put their skills to work at home a little more!) ;0)

A few shots of my afternoon out snowshoeing - so undeniably gorgeous.. Sun shining, warm breeze stirring, water running, birds chirping..
ahhhhhh... Bliss!

Great photos of those cute kids painting their eggs so pretty! Looks like both Emarie and Dylan received some school awards so good job kids! Ash said your icecream cake was very yummy...I might have to get the recipe from you :-)

I bet it's gonna be beautiful in there when spring really hits with the water running and greenery!

Whoops, just realised i hadn't commented on your latest posts. Happy Belated Birthday to Dylan! No pirate ship birthday cake this year??! Ice cream cake sounds like a good option for you Andrea anyway!! I like those easy sorts :-)... or maybe not so easy if you made the ice cream yourself!! Congratulations on Dylan and Emarie's certificates! Thats the best sort of award you can get "listening and working hard"... well done!
